The REDD+ Emberá Wounaan project is located in the Darién Province of Panama and covers more than 430,000 hectares of tropical forest. It directly benefits 41 Indigenous communities, with an estimated population of approximately 10,000 people.
Its objective is to consolidate a conservation model based on strengthening Indigenous governance, protecting ancestral culture, and promoting sustainable economic development.

We participated in the First Wounaan and Emberá Women’s Congress, a key space to strengthen women’s leadership, intercultural dialogue, and the active participation of Indigenous women in territorial governance and conservation processes.
We took part in the Colombia Carbon Forum, one of the leading regional platforms for dialogue on carbon markets and climate action, supporting the participation of Raquela Carpio, Governor of the Emberá Wounaan Comarca, in an international panel on territory-based climate solutions.
